Let's start off with the boring bit. It's that time of year when Aunty Hilda starts saving for her holidays and wants to take money from you. Yes, subscriptions are due - £10 adults, £6 for those still at school. It's not a lot for a year's worth of varied activities and social events. If you are taking part in any productions either on stage or behind the scenes then you do need to be a paid up member for insurance purposes. Please bring your hard-earned booty to the next event or rehearsal, or send a cheque payable to STAG to Hilda.
If you came to our last Wacky Races night, then you certainly won't want to miss the next one! Alan has more videos lined up starring Dick Dastardly, Penelope Pitstop, the Gruesome Twosome, et al. You can lay your bets and hope to win magnificent(??!!?) prizes on the outcome of these bizarre races. And if your luck isn't running that day, it will only be points that you lose and not real cash! This is a great event for all ages.
The Date: Saturday 1st April, 7pm start
The Place: John and Brenda's
Cost will be £3 per person or £10 for a family of max 2 adults and their children. A simple supper will be laid on and wine or beer will be available for a "voluntary" donation. Space will be limited, so only the first 30 to ring in can be booked in, so don't delay, ring today! Cut-off date for booking is Sunday 26th March as Brenda needs numbers for catering.
This will be held at the Hut at 7:30pm on Wednesday 3rd May. A new committee will be elected, so please come along with some nominations for the sommittee. This is also a good time to review the past year's activites and come up with ideas for the future. If you have thoughts on what we are doing right, were we are going wrong, or if you just want a bacon buttie, then do come along and join us!
Get your teams together for our next quiz night on Thursday 18th May, 7:30pm, at the Brintons Arms. Alan has already worked out his devilishly devious questions. Cost will be £6 per team. Please publicise this event among your friends and colleagues. More details can be obtained from John and Brenda, please get in touch.
Why not join us for a day trip to Weston Park in Shropshire on Saturday 17th June. The house and extensive grounds will be open, and we can enjoy a three course lunch for the discounted rate of £5.95. Entrance to Weston Park is £5 (less for pensioners and children) and the only additional cost is the hire of a mini-bus. So the likely cost will be no more that £18. First come, first served, so book up now with John and Brenda, please get in touch.
This will be a major fund-raiser to help with the costs of "Wizard of Oz". It will be held at the Day Centre from 11am to 2pm on Saturday 8th July. We will need lots of help on the day to man various stalls as well as set up beforehand and clear up afterwards. We also need lots of bric-a-brac, cakes, prizes for games and for a tombola and anything else that can be sold. So here's your chance to have a clear out and get rid of those unwanted Christmas presents. There will also be a barbecue and as many stalls, games and events as we can think of. So please do all you can to come up with ideas and keep the date free to help.
