Happy Christmas and a joyful new year to everyone. That came around all too quickly, where did the year go? It became a wonderful Indian Summer that's what it did, still wearing shorts in October. Phew. What a year.
Get your hankies out for some really, really, really, really sad news. Neil Crabbe, the Entertainment Facilitator, has not been able to facilitate one single person. It seems no-one wants to help Neil out with the Christmas entertainment. The prospect of Neil singing to us for an hour and a half doesn't bear thinking about, so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get yourself facilitated and tell Neil how you are going to amuse us and yourself at the same time, get in touch with Neil.
Get your flags out for some really, really happy news. Alex and Kathy are getting married on 5th July 2003. Congratulations and good luck to you both, if you think this year went quickly you ain't seen nothing yet.
We are definitely sending £500.00 to KEMP house and hope the presentation will be reported in the local press. The evening of Alice the Video was really successful and everyone who went thoroughly enjoyed themselves. A special thanks to Jay for the video and Alan for organising the pizzas. The social evening before, horse racing, barbeque and quiz, all with cash prizes was even better and what's more made a profit. If you missed any of those events make sure you don't miss out next year.
Saturday 18th January 2003 - The Christmas Buffet at Stourport Social Day Centre, 7:00pm all for the fantastic price of £7.50. If we overwhelm the Entertainment Facilitator there will be entertainment, games, competitions and maybe even a little drama. get in touch with Brenda or Lynn before 6th Jan.
Saturday 15th February 2003 - The Nearly St Valentine's Day Massacre organised by Peter Hollis a.k.a. 'The Fixer' together with his Moll Hit 'Em Hard Heather. It is a murder mystery evening. Hotshot Hollis and his Moll are 'fixin' to get someone killed. It could be you or 'The Fixer' could be aiming to stitch you up with a phony murder wrap. Be there to defend yourself at the back of the hut at 7:30pm. Just £2.50 will get you soup, bread and nibbles, if your hand stops shaking long enough to eat them.
Auditions Wednesday 26th March 2003 7:30pm at the hut. The play is called 'Comfort and Joy' and revolves around a family at Christmas time. There are ten characters with age ranges from 14 to 70 years old. Everyone welcome, the more the merrier.
21st, 22nd and 23rd November 2003. Our 60th Anniversary production.
This year offers two plays: A Winter's Tale or Comedy of Errors and the date will be between 21st June and 13th July. We will let you know when they plan to perform each play as soon as we know.
We are looking for very tall people to help hold up the ceiling panels while Andy and John nail them - the panels that is - sometime in January. If you can help get in touch with John.
