I must start with an apology to those of you who take the newsletter by E-mail, you didn't get the October edition. My fault entirely, I thought I had passed on the news to Neil, who transmits it, but I hadn't. Very sorry everyone. Note from Neil: Actually, I must admit that Newsletters were put up at the hut for the cast and I didn't pick one up, which I should have. So nice of John though it is to take the blame, I must shoulder the larger part of blame. My apologies to all.
Yet again our younger members thrill and delight the audiences. Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass was a roaring success and everyone involved should give themselves a big pat on the back. Especially Alan who not only produced the show, but also ended up being in it and heavily committed to publicity. There was a good mix of adults and younger members. This show had more than it's fair share of bad luck. Firstly it was cancelled because of the lights at the Civic, or lack of them. Followed by, in no particular order: Jo Taylor suffering glandular fever, thankfully Katy Ball was able to step in (Thanks Katy); loss of cast who couldn't work in the autumn; Matt Green damaging his wrist; not being able to get into the Civic until Sunday lunchtime; Lynn Morgan, Margaret Groom and Paul Mountain all being involved in car crashes. I'm sure there were other incidents but I can't remember more. Nevertheless THE SHOW WENT ON. The upside is we are able to donate £500.00 to Kemp House Hospice, another good reason to congratulate ourselves. Well done everyone.
