Firstly, the thing you must do now, before you read the second item. By the way, Hello everyone. Ludlow needs to be booked by the 16th March, so phone John NOW (not Don who is skiing). You will be seeing The Merchant of Venice on Wednesday 25th June 2003 at a cost of no more than £15.00. Get in touch with John. I know we told you the plays at Ludlow would be A Winter's Tale or A Comedy of Errors, well the comedy is they have made an error and the choice is now A Winter's Tale or The Merchant of Venice.
Now you're back from the phone. The Christmas Buffet was a great evening, thank you to everyone who entertained us and a big thank you to the cooks and bottle washer. The donation cheque from the profit of Alice in Wonderland was presented to the representative from Kemp House, who has since sent us a lovely letter. Part of the letter follows: 'Your thoughtfulness will help KEMP hospice to continue to provide respite care to patients plus practical and emotional support to their families. It is only thanks to people like you that KEMP Hospice and Home Care Service can support local people.' Thanks again to everyone involved in 'Alice'. A particular thanks is due to Lionel who offered to underwrite any loss we made by reducing the buffet price in an effort to increase the attendance. Fortunately everyone drank more than their fair quota so we made a profit and didn't need to take up Lionel's offer.
The Nearly St Valentine's Day Massacre - It was Hilda wot dun it. At the end of the murder mystery evening, which was very entertaining, we found that our dearly beloved Treasurer is a part time assassin (I hope you remember this and the 15th Feb when I remind you about subs later). Thanks to Peter and Heather for organising it and also to the 'Morgan Soup Kitchen' for feeding us. We also managed to make a profit of £32.60.
Auditions Wednesday 26th March 2003 7:30pm at the hut. 'Comfort and Joy'. The play is about three generations of a family at Christmas time. There are ten characters with a wide age range. Everyone welcome, the more the better. We have a producer in Alan and a prompt in Benda, but we are still in need of props people and back stage crew, so there is plenty for everyone to do. Ticket prices will be Adults £5.50 Concessions £4.00.
21st, 22nd and 23rd November 2003. Our 60th Anniversary production. Some of the considerations to date have been Scrooge, Oliver or Daisy Pulls it Off, but Alan continues to look. So be prepared for something special.
