Hello everyone. A sad little story to start. You see there's this poor little woman who sits alone on a stool in the dark corner of a room. She sits there rocking back and forth nursing a little pig, and she talks to the little pig, occasionally she dabs her eye with the corner of a handkerchief. You can hear the tremble in her voice when she says "Oink, oink speak to me little pig", but still not a sound can be heard - you see Auntie Hilda's piggy bank is empty. It's a pitiful sight to see a grown woman cry, so please, please send Auntie Hilda your subs. One of her few pleasures, as she sits up in bed darning Don's socls, is to rattle her piggy bank and hear the money jingling. Please send it now while there's still a lump in your throat. The story can have a happy oinking, I mean ending.
Performance Dates 10th, 11th and 12th July 2003.

The roof of the hut is now waterproof and only needs the ceiling re-fitting and the back door exit easing in the frame. A working party is being organised to do it as soon as possible.
(Editor's note: We've actually done it now. You can admire our handiwork on the 1st!)
The theatre visit to see 'Noises Off' was very successful - everyone enjoyed it.
Similarly the Skittles evening went well and again was enjoyed by those who went. We could have dones with seeing a few more younger members.
Future social events will include another theatre trip and a game of rounders in the park. Both to be arranged.
The next social event is a walking treasure hunt on the 15th June at 6:00pm, meeting in Vale Road car park. After a short walk with clues and questions you will end up in a pub for a drink and get together. And an even shorter walk back to your car.
21st, 22nd and 23rd November 2003.
An important announcement for our younger members. There will be a meeting on Sunday 1st June between 6:00 and 8:00pm at the hut. Why is it important? Because we have a chicken and egg situation, the choice of the Autumn play will depend on how many young members are interested. But we don't know how many are interested. We are thinking of doing a musical play the group did several years ago, but it needs lots and lots of younger members to be in it, so be there and influence the play chosen.
Next Committee Meeting Tuesday 3rd June 2003 7:30pm at the hut.
P.S. Please remember Auntie Hilda, Oink, Oink.
