October 2003

Technology has caught up with me, this is the first newsletter, from me, directly to our e-mail members. Until now Neil has kindly sent the e-mails, having had to re-process the original letter I send him. This time I'm hoping Neil will be able to pass on the e-mail I send, who knows one day I might learn to do it all myself.

Auntie Hilda needs to watch out for her job. For various reasons there was a low attendance at the committee meeting and Alan became multi-faceted. He was secretary chairman, vice chairman and a member, all the time he was rattling the money in his pocket, I think he wanted to be treasurer too.

What's happened:- Some hardy individuals took part in Stourport Carnival and won 2nd prize and some money. They were advertising `Daisy Pulls It Off', I said hardy because there was a torrential down pour and they all got soaked. Well done folks, but our biggest thanks should go to `The Holly Bush' pub who sponsored us for a lorry, quite expensive. We have also had Horse racing, organised by Neil, and Wacky Races at Lynn and Andy's, organised by Alan. Both events made a profit and were enjoyable but we could have done with better support, as the trussmaker said to the doctor.

Daisy Pulls It Off

There have been a few changes of cast with exam commitments but new people have come in, there is still room for more - particularly girls. So if you know someone who is interested but doesn't want a speaking part then bring them along on either Friday night or Sunday evening. There will be a set painting session at Lionel's on Wednesday 15th October at 10.00 am. anyone who can make it is welcome.

The Hut

We are appealing to the Planning Inspectorate to over turn the impending eviction notice. But even if we are successful it will be very short term. We have to give up the hut and organise how we stay in touch and rehearse differently.
