Happy New Year everyone. Already we have lots of exciting things to look forward to, but let's briefly look back. Daisy Pulls It Off was an outstanding success and we thought we would break even, but it looks like the bill from the Civic will cause a £100.00 loss. The 60th Anniversary Buffet at the Holly Bush pub was a great evening and meal, thanks to Alan for organising it we all enjoyed ourselves.
Very sadly Margaret Stringer passed away this month, after a fair amount of illness over the past few years. Margaret had been a member since the 1940's and was a stalwart supporter of the Guild and anyone who got away without buying a ticket for a production from Margaret had to be a smooth talker or quick on their feet. Margaret was an actress, president and publicity machine for the Guild. We will really miss her.

Wednesday 11th February 2004 - 7.30pm At the hut for part in 'And Then There Were None' by Agatha Christie. It was called 'Ten Little Indians', not P.C. It will be directed by Brenda Banner. The cast consists of nine men and four women. So come along and audition and let anyone else who might be interested know.
Hopefully 5th March cost £5.00. More to follow.
On 7th January, twenty of us went to the Birmingham Rep to see 'The Wizard of Oz'. It was excellent, the sets were very imaginative, but perhaps not as colourful as I'd have hoped and we didn't see a rainbow or an emerald city. I did wish more of the original cast of our Wizard could have come along, as I am absolutely sure you would have agreed that we could certainly hold our heads up against their production. Our spectacular Wizard was much better. Their Dorothy was very good with a nice singing voice, but even I could see she was a bit long in the tooth and maybe a younger actress would have been more appropriate. But the Rep does put on an excellent production and we look forward to seeing what they have in mind for next year as a Guild outing is always a good night out.
Wednesday 21st April 2004 - 7.45pm at the hut.
Next Committee Meeting 4th February - 7.30pm at Neil's.
