August 2005

Greetings one and all and welcome to this month's newsletter!

I hope you have all enjoyed your summer holidays and are refreshed and ready to rock until Christmas!

Amazing Maurice is a go! That’s right we have a cast! Well most of a cast. As at the time of writing, we are still some bodies short. The parts we have are non-speaking and are filler roles (keekees [normal rats], and townsfolk) so no learning lines!! So please pressgang friends, relations, next door neighbours, and class mates, or anyone you can think of to come along and help out. The cast we do have are:

The First rehearsal is Friday 2nd September 7:30pm at the hut. For those new members who have no clue where the hut is – it’s behind the shops on queens road, on the Walshes estate, contact either Alan, Neil or Alex for directions if you are at all unsure!

On the non acting side of things we will be looking for volunteers to help with the construction, painting and costumes for the play.

The play leads nicely onto the forthcoming Guild BBQ @ Chateau Morgan, on Saturday rd September. There are still places available, and Lynn has requested she gets bookings in ASAP as she needs to order in the meat etc. the menu and booking info and menu is below:

Please tick two main courses and one vegetable option from the menu below:

Please reply to Lynn Morgan by Monday 29th August 2005.

Please come along, it will be a great evening, and is only £6 per head – including salads etc for the rabbit like amongst you!

Further Guild excursions and social gatherings will be arranged in the near future, with ideas ranging from laser quest to ten pin bowling being suggested, and absolutely no mention whatsoever of carpet bowls, or whist drives!

Branded Clothing is here! Yes it's true! The Polo shirts were expertly modelled by Alan, Alex and Neil at the recent AMaHER auditions, and we will be hopefully making an order in the next few weeks, so if you would like either a polo shirt or a sweater, let us know ASAP! The cost as previously mentioned is likely to be in the region of £17 for either item, and it would be appreciated if we could have a small deposit prior to ordering to allow us to gain a good idea of interest.

We are holding a play reading evening on the 1st October so we can make preparations for next years calendar of events (even though we have only just started AMaHER – it’s a busy life in the committee you know!!) The committee has decided that we may have done enough murder mysteries for a while so we are hoping to find a suitable farce. If you know a good one, and can bring a script, feel free to come along, it’s a bring your own refreshments night, and we will be sending out for Pizza / fish and chips on the evening so come along, all are welcome!

That’s about it for this month’s newsletter ( I think 3 pages is quite enough for the time being (well it is 12:45am and my eyes are beginning to feel a bit tired…. )

Next committee meeting will be 27th September 7:30pm at the Hut, and Maria will host, again, assuming she remembers this time.

TTFN

Alex
