On Stage

These pictures were taken the night before the dress rehearsal. As such not all characters are fully made up or in full costume, also some of the set is not quite finished. However, it gives a good idea of how things looked on stage.

Alan gives the cast a list of things to bear in mind on stage. The cast listen attentively. This is actually a Boggle being made up, not Emma cleaning up after a sneeze. Just wanted to clarify.

Mrs McReady and Santa's elf together in one place. Since Mrs McReady never ventures into Narnia, she must have some contact with Father Christmas through the world of the humans. Curiouser and curiouser. A fight choreographer and his 'puppet'.

Lucy's first experiance of Narnia is to meet Mr. Tumnus, the faun. Edmund's first experiance of Narnia is to meet the White Witch. Altogether now: 'Booo!'

As luck would have it, the children meet the Beavers on their next visit. They resolve to go to the stone table and meet Aslan. The Witch's magic has made Narnia always have winter, but never Christmas. The arrival of Father Christmas is a blow to her power. He also gives the children useful presents for later.

Okay, this picture is posed. This is Aslan and his leopards at the stone table. Well, there was a break in the rehearsal, someone had a camera... Back to the action. Aslan and the leopards as they first appear.

In a deal with the witch, Aslan agrees to die for Edmund's sins. He lies on the stone table and awaits the outcome Aslan comes back to life and all hell breaks loose. The only thing for it is a battle.

For reaons which are never explained, Maugrim has a personal vendetta against a badger who the witch had turned to stone Aslan releases the badger who goes looking for Maugrim. Edmund, the redeemed sinner is wounded in the fighting. The witch falls soon after.
